This morning I visited Boscombe Down and the team from Qinetic. It is always interesting to see the logistics behind our Armed Forces and I was not disappointed. Being on the House of Commons Select Defence Committee means that these sorts of visits are critical in my work and I loved the chance of seeing the work first hand.
After Qinetic, I met with National Farmers' Union representatives and local farmers, as I continue to back the interests of rural communities. I believe strongly in agriculture and feel that not enough is being done to protect our own farmers from intrusive legislation. With so much bureaucracy surrounding farmers I hope to table a question to the Secretary of State to make things easier for our hard-working farmers.
